The Canadian Dental Care Program is a government initiative aimed at providing essential dental care to Canadians who do not have access to dental insurance and have an adjusted family net income of less than $90,000 per year. To qualify for the CDCP, you must meet the following criteria:

• Lack of Dental Insurance: You must not have any form of dental insurance.
• Income Threshold: Your adjusted family net income must be less than $90,000.

• Tax Return: You must have filed your tax return in the previous year.

What Dental Services Are Covered?

The CDCP provides coverage for a variety of dental services, including:

• Receive an Invitation: The government will roll out the program in phases, starting with seniors. You will receive an invitation letter with a personalized application code.You must not have any form of dental insurance.
• Confirm Eligibility: Use the application code to confirm your eligibility through a phone application.
• Update Contact Information: Ensure your contact information is current with the Canada Revenue Agency to receive your invitation.

Rollout Schedule for the Canadian Dental Care Program

The CDCP will be rolled out in phases according to the following schedule:

• Seniors Aged 87 and Older: Starting December 2023
• Seniors Aged 77 to 86: Starting January 2024
• Seniors Aged 72 to 76: Starting January 2024
• Seniors Aged 70 to 71: Starting March 2024
• Seniors Aged 65 to 69: Starting May 2024
• Adults with a Valid Disability Tax Credit Certificate: Starting June 2024
• Children Under the Age of 18: Starting June 2024
• All Remaining Eligible Canadian Residents: Starting January 2025

Coverage and Co-Payment Structure

The CDCP's coverage and co-payment structure are based on your household income:

• No Co-Payment: Families with an income under $70,000 will not have to make any co-payments.
• 40% Co-Payment:Families with an income between $70,000 and $79,999 will be responsible for 40% of the treatment cost.
• 60% Co-Payment: Families with an income between $80,000 and $89,999 will be responsible for 60% of the treatment cost.
