Office Team Lead

Mandy joined the Didsbury Smiles team in May of 2020 as the Office Team Lead. Mandy began her dental career over 12 years ago as a registered dental assistant. Graduating from Columbia College and continuing her education at the U of A to obtain the Orthodontic Module for assisting. During her time in dentistry she has worked as an assistant, treatment coordinator, clinical coordinator and her current role of team lead. Behind her smile is a woman who is passionate about getting to know all of our patients and ensuring all of our patients have a wonderful experience!

Catarina Fonseca

Hygienist

This is Catarina one of our Hygienists! She has been a hygienist for 8 years and did her bachelor of dental hygiene at the University of Alberta. She is extremely gentle and thorough, and she has lots of methods for keeping people who have dental anxiety or sensitive teeth feeling very comfortable in the chair! 🙂 Cat loves educating patients on the importance of oral health and is fantastic with kids. Outside of her profession, Cat loves all kinds of outdoor activities such as skiing, fishing, biking, gardening, and spending time with her family, friends, and animals. She looks forward to meeting you and helping you maintain your beautiful smile.

Laurie Nelson

Hygienist

Laurie was born and raised in Southern Saskatchewan. She started her dental career as a dental therapist before becoming a dental hygienist. Laurie has been practising dental hygiene for over 20 years and still loves interacting and getting to know her patients while providing them with thorough gentle dental care. In her spare time she enjoys playing hockey, travelling and spending time outdoors camping, hiking or walking her dog.

Simone Walter

Dental Administrator

Simone has worked in the dental field for 33 years. Born and raised in Germany, her dental career started as a dental assistant. When Simone and her family immigrated to Canada in 2006, she found her passion working as a dental administrator. Simone is focused on greeting patients with the utmost respect and friendliness, and she enjoys the excitement of helping patients achieve their smile goals. When Simone is away from the office, she values quality time with her husband, two daughters, their dogs and camping at the lake.

This is the best place I've ever taken my kids! I have 4 kids and we have taken them to different dentists over the years and a couple pediatric dentists and we have never had such great care and been treated as well as we have at Didsbury smiles. The hygienists are so great with kids and so friendly, the dentists are very patient and great with the kids also. The front staff are so always so lovely to deal with and very helpful and understanding.
